Patrick Tan: His and His Group’s Research on Gastric Cancer

1 min read

Currently a professor of Cancer and Stem Cell Biology, Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore, Patrick Tan made a name in the genetics and molecular field. He has been particularly interested in studying possible therapies for patients with stomach cancer.

Tan worked with a group of other scientists to develop genomic strategies meant for unlocking the molecular and clinical diversity of this of cancer. Their research focused on understanding the way individual gastric tumors vary in their molecular aberrations. The group believed that this study lets them refine therapies for various subgroups of patients with gastric cancer which display distinct patterns in terms of how their body responds to the disease and treatment.
